League Salnite.
On Monday morning, you are back at work ready to accept the next, albeit always new, tasks and try to come up with something compelling that could interest the reader about life around here. However, after the relatively long holiday holidays, somehow such a comprehensive nausea does not leave – this time I do not mean the physically felt nausea, but the spiritual one. And it has nothing to do with John, who passed away peacefully, but nicely in his family circle, or local life. It seems that a large part of the Latvian society could not keep their fingers from crossing the smartphone screen every now and then, even during the holidays, to see if there is anything new in connection with the sudden threat “march” of the Wagnerites to Moscow.
On the one hand, something like this was expected for a long time – exactly who it would be, when, of course, no one could guess. And when something like this finally starts, I will allow myself to use officially undefined terms, in a dictatorial power, then of course you want to hold your breath with everyone and watch with wide eyes how what we learned in history lessons in high school is happening in the present – overthrow of power, revolution, new quest for power.
On the other hand, something in the whole course of events seemed too unbelievable. Maybe it’s my innate skepticism, maybe too smoothly the “Wagner” mercenary colonnade rolled through Russia in the direction of Moscow, which was somehow busy, but as if preparing to block the entry of these soldiers into the city. The wealthiest, not to mention the main leadership “puppet” Putin, even managed to leave the so far safe city for a moment. However, when both the so-called president of Belarus and the Wagnerian leader Yevgeniy Prigozhin came out with their statement, statements were spread that no one had fled anywhere and had not been away for a moment. In such moments, you just want to give up – go to hell and I don’t want to listen to that bluff anymore!
So, as far as we mortals know and are told, Lukashenko allegedly talked to Prigozhin about something throughout the day and eventually came to an agreement. No punishment will be applied to the soldiers, and Prigozhin is also said to have passed safely and, as far as is known, has gone in the direction of Belarus.
Here, at this moment, I just want to ask – what is this butter? What could Lukash, because you don’t even want to call him otherwise, offer something so that such a grandiose march would be stopped and completely reversed? Or, unfortunately, there is an endlessly nagging feeling that this was a pre-planned move to confuse the entire world community, to divert attention from something. Like the Wagnerians, the Belarusians only play the role of pawns, which distract from the decisive play, the queen’s move, or the rokade. I really want to believe that not. But there is no certainty.
