Tea occupies a special place among the Egyptians among other drinks, and it has become associated with the “mood” of many, who drink it daily, but have you ever wondered what happens to your body when you drink it regularly?

Tea can work wonders for your body’s health, and just as it has a lot of positive side effects, there are also negative aspects that can occur by drinking too much of it, as stated by “eatthis”.

1- You will lose weight:

A cup of tea can reduce cravings for coffee, and if you replace your daily sugary coffee drink with tea, you can save 250 to 450 calories. In addition, some studies have shown that drinking tea regularly with diet and exercise may improve weight loss. A study published in The Journal of Nutrition found that the antioxidants in green tea increased weight loss and belly fat loss.

2- Reduce inflammation:

A study showed that green tea contains anti-inflammatory antioxidants that are beneficial against cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases.

3- You may experience the negative effects of excessive caffeine intake:

A cup of tea only contains about 47 milligrams of caffeine, but a few cups late in the day may be enough to make it difficult to sleep. Other possible negative side effects of caffeine in tea include headaches, high blood pressure, and irritable bowel syndrome.

4- You will feel less ringing in the ears:

People suffering from tinnitus are advised to cut back on tea and coffee, as it is believed that caffeine may raise blood pressure enough to cause the unpleasant sensation of ringing in the ears.

5. It May Protect You Against Skin Cancer

Research suggests that consuming green, black, or white tea provides a range of beneficial compounds that may prevent some types of cancer, including non-melanoma skin cancer.

6- It can give you yellow teeth:

Tea is generally a very healthy beverage, but it has a reputation for staining teeth. The acid in tea can give your teeth a yellowish tint over time if you drink it daily.

7. You may have stronger bones.

Studies have found that tea contains a powerful set of nutrients that can stimulate bone formation, help slow bone breakdown, and protect against osteoporosis, also known as brittle bones. Black and green tea were shown to be beneficial in one study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, where Scientists exposed bone-forming cells called osteoblasts in a lab culture to three key chemicals found in green tea and found that one of them, EGC catechin or epigallocatechin, caused up to 79% of new bone to grow.

8- Excessive going to the bathroom:

Tea contains caffeine, a known diuretic, which means the more caffeinated tea you drink, the more frequent trips to the bathroom.
