Reporting from ANTARA, Firlianita Ahdiyanti, a nutritionist from the Nutrition Services Installation at Dr. National Central General Hospital. Cipto Mangunkusumo (RSCM) stated that the sugar contained in fruit can also increase body weight.

“Can fructose or sugar from fruit also increase body weight? Yes. So don’t be mistaken,” he said during an online discussion on diet management for obesity in Jakarta, on Tuesday (23/1).

Firli firmly stated that many people often misunderstand this. Most people still think that the sugar that is considered to increase weight and needs to be limited is refined sugar or sucrose.

Apart from that, Firli also emphasized to individuals who are undergoing a diet program the importance of following a balanced nutritional pattern in accordance with the recommendations of the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) through the ‘Fill My Plate’ Program.
