The Surprising Story of Angus T. Jones: From Child Star to Religious Devotee

Many probably sat down in front of the TV after school to catch the latest episode of “Two and A Half Men”. In the series, we follow the brothers Charlie, played by Charlie Sheen, (57) and Alan, played by Jon Cryer (58) Harper, and Alan’s son Jake, played by Angus T. Jones (29). Despite achieving huge celebrity status at an early age, Jones, who plays little Jake, chose to return to a normal life.

Jones first got a taste of luxury after he, as a ten-year-old, landed the role in the popular series in 2003.

In line with the series’ growing popularity, the amount of the child star’s paycheck also increased. According to Australian News the then 17-year-old Jones became the highest-paid child star on TV in 2010, when he was paid over one hundred million Norwegian kroner for two seasons.

In 2012, however, came the shocking news. Jones could tell that he had been baptized and wanted to devote his life to Christianity. Thus he finished “Two and a Half Men”, which he considered “dirty”. At the same time, he called for a boycott.

Since then, we have not seen Jones on screen, except in a small role in the web series “Horace and Pete” in 2016.
