The Surprising Stat About Rick the Doorman’s Combat Abilities in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Twitter account revealed a fun stat about Rick the Doorman’s combat abilities. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was plagued upon release by a slew of crippling bugs that rendered the game unplayable for some players on all platforms, most notably PC. However, after a series of patches, players are reporting a much more stable experience.

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor relies a lot more on humor than its predecessor, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. From overly confident battle droids to various hysterical chitchat Cal Kestis overhears throughout his adventure.

Rick, the door technician, is a stormtrooper who thinks he’s a formidable opponent. Of course he’s an absolute wimp. Rick can be found on Nova Garon, an Imperial satellite station. Once the player Cal has navigated through a series of locked doors inside the Imperial stronghold, dramatic music will play, heralding the arrival of one of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s challenging bosses. And then, down a long corridor, comes Rick the Doorman, a rowdy stormtrooper who vows to kill Cal. But Rick is, quite literally, a joke. Most players can finish him off in a number of ways in a matter of seconds. The keyword here is “most” because according to a tweet from the official EA Star Wars account, there are actually quite a few players that have been defeated by Rick the Doorman. Really? 🙂

The tweet provides a statistical breakdown of the gaming experience of the entire Star Wars Jedi: Survivor community. For example, 52.5% of players chose the Jedi Knight difficulty level. The most popular lightsaber color was white. Also, it was noted that 489 players were defeated by Rick the Door Technician, a character who was meant to be a hoax.

It’s totally understandable that the Rancor boss fight in Survivor has taken the lives of over 9 million players. He is the third boss in the game. Players are just beginning to get acquainted with the intricacies of the combat system. The same cannot be said of Rick, the door technician. Players will encounter Rick about halfway through the game, which means by this point they should already be a very strong Jedi who has survived some tough battles. And yet nearly 500 players have been defeated by the Stormtrooper with lots of heart but very little combat skill. Thanks to a small group of players, there are some alternate universe versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor where Rick the door technician is the hero of the Empire.
