Even fans can’t guess what kind of film this is.
Soviet comedies for foreign distribution were often called differently. The reasons were different. Sometimes cultural differences prevented the original idea from being conveyed accurately; sometimes foreign cinemas tried to add intrigue.
The fact remains: some films cannot be recognized from German posters, for example. It wouldn’t even occur to fans that they could designate their favorite painting this way.
One of the strangest options for changing the name concerned the comedy “Striped Flight”. The film about the journey of tigers from a tropical port to a Soviet zoo in Germany was shown as Rette sich, wer kann!. Which translated means: “Save yourself who can.”
Many fans consider the decision to be unsuccessful. Firstly, the version is more suitable for a disaster film. Secondly, the play on words that was in the original is lost.
Now on German sites they even give a transcription of the original name. Probably so that viewers don’t get confused.
