Due to the epidemic and limited interpersonal contacts, the number of many infectious diseases has decreased in recent months.
Measles is an infectious viral disease. It spreads through air-droplets. A person who has not previously suffered from it and has not been vaccinated against it is susceptible to infection and – as experts point out – if they come into contact with a sick person, the probability is about 98%.
Symptoms of the disease include fever, severe cough, maculopapular rash, conjunctivitis, photophobia, and rhinitis. Complications from measles are quite common. Lighter ones include otitis media and gastrointestinal infections, and more serious ones include meningitis. Vaccination is the only known protection against this disease.
