I was only able to evaluate the adaptive cruise control on the Jaecoo J7, and I have no complaints about it. It smoothly picks up speed and slows down. Although my foot reached for the brake a couple of times before the car did.

There is nothing special about the choice itself. But it was always available in a limited number of cars, and was often offered as an extra. The Chinese install adaptive cruise control in almost every car.

It is not a bad light

Most Chinese cars are fitted with LED optics, which just glow normally. These aren’t terrible halogens, but they aren’t German matrix advanced lights either. Although, I’m sure they will be there soon too.

However, the eyes do not tighten. The road is well lit, and the area of ​​light in the town is sufficient. However, I can’t say the same for the upper sleeve. It seems to me that Chery and Jaecoo are lacking.

Speaking of optics, we can also praise the Chinese for including the function of turning on the PTF when turning. For example, when you turn right, the right fog light will automatically turn on. I have only seen this option on VAGs and BMWs, it is good that it is also available in Chery, Jaecoo, Geely and many other Chinese cars.

Built in DVR

I believe this should be a standard feature on all cars. Unfortunately, it is impossible to drive on our roads without this device.

The main advantage of the built-in DVR is that the car owner does not have to worry about it. I installed the flash drive and forgot about it.

There is no need to attach anything to the glass (most recorders look terrible), no need to run wires under the cover and no need to think about how to power it.

But there will be a fly in the ointment. Some cars, such as the Jaecoo J7, do not have a built-in recorder, but a large plug is installed under the mirror, which even contains a fake plastic camera. For what???

Chery, Omoda and Exeed have the same unit installed, but only with a real recorder. I don’t understand how difficult it was to install a recorder in a Jaecoo, especially since these are all cars from the same company.

Cars are constantly becoming more expensive, but even taking into account the rising prices, the Chinese offer a large list of options, so the subscriber could be left.

The average Chinese crossover has dual-zone climate control, 360-degree cameras, wireless phone charging, CarPlay, Android Auto, head-up display, front and rear parking sensors, a large number of car settings, cruise control adaptive and comprehensive. roof

This is really a good list of options. Other manufacturers can’t always offer the same set of features, and if they can, some of them will be in the form of expensive add-ons or subscriptions.

And this is probably the main advantage of the Chinese, which is confirmed by others when it comes to cars. The phrase “the Chinese will overwhelm you with options” is heard quite often, and for many this is the main argument when choosing a car.

Standard design

Today you can not say about Chinese cars that they are scary. They may have a controversial design, some borrowed elements and just strange color schemes, like the red inserts in the Omoda C5. But taken together, the cars look modern and no longer cause disgust.

Remember any Chinese car from 15 years ago. You don’t remember? Well, they looked something like this:

It has already been three years since Chinese manufacturers captured the Russian market for new cars. And during this time, we can see how Chinese companies are developing rapidly in design.

A simple example. On the one hand, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and 7 Pro Max. These are two popular crossovers in Russia. The first was released in 2020, and the second in 2021. That is, the first model is already four years old, and the second three.

On the other hand is the Jaecoo J7. In China, it is sold under the Chery Tansuo 06 brand. The model is based on the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and was released in September 2023.

I don’t know about you, but I like the Jaecoo J7 / Chery Tansuo 06 more than the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and 7 Pro Max. The silhouette became more interesting, retractable handles and beautiful optics appeared.

I made this comparison to clearly show how the Chinese have progressed in design over the past few years. I hope I succeeded.

I only talked about those benefits that I could consider myself.

Of course, they are not perfect, and the Chinese have something to strive for and something to improve. But it is considered wrong to talk only about the disadvantages in the presence of objective advantages.

For some reason, I am confident that in a few years the Chinese will be able to improve the quality, add even more useful options, and in the end the cars will become better.

Remember how everyone used to laugh at Koreans, accusing them of poor quality and copying. A few years passed, and they were able to completely change the way of creating cars. The same thing happens to the Chinese.
