The surprise: New Pokémon Violet and Scarlet will be released in 2022

The Pokémon Company has now revealed that the next game in the Pokémon main series, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, is under development and will be released as early as the end of 2022.

The games will be released for the Nintendo Switch and will take place in a more open game world than the previous parts of the main series, where urban environments and wilderness exist without any boundaries between them.

The previous Pokémon generation, Sword and Shield, was released in 2019. Towards the end of 2021, however, the remakes Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were released and in early 2022, the spin-off Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released, which means that it has been very close with major Pokémon games recently year.
