Scientists, who delve deeper into the universe with each new discovery, have discovered a new galaxy. The Hubble Space Telescope, showing the spiral-like “strange” arm galaxy, surprises those who see it.
Sharing images of the galaxy, which is nearly 450 million light-years from Earth, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has named the galaxy “ESO 415-19”. In the Sciencetimes news it was claimed that the galaxy has arms that spread out from the core and extend out in a “strange” way.
ATTRACT ATTENTION WITH ITS UNIQUE
In the report, it was noted that the “strange” arms of the galaxy “ESO 415-19” collided with another galaxy in the past, and that some parts of the galaxy’s arms were pulled due to gravity, making them long and curved. .
On the other hand, the uniqueness of ESO 415-19 made it an ideal target for the Hubble Space Telescope. It was discovered in an ongoing study to expand the Atlas of Bizarre Galaxies, a collection of some of the strangest and most fascinating galaxies in the universe.
FUNCTION ONLY IS NOT TESTED
While it is stated in the Atlas of Bizarre Galaxies that most galaxies form due to the collision or friction of galaxies with each other, the Atlas of Bizarre Galaxies prepared by astronomer Halton Harp is seen as an astronomical catalogue.
The study aims not only to illuminate the workings of galaxies, but also to reveal their physical processes, how they move and to provide clearer information on the workings of the universe as a whole.
