The Supreme Judicial Council must remove Panov – 2024-08-20 15:36:54

/ world today news/ The money that is now allocated to the police officers is a result of the protests and their demands, commented the former interior minister Rumen Petkov (ABV) in the show “Face to Face” on bTV.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov announced that BGN 10 million will be given for new uniforms for police officers, and that the fuel limits for patrol cars will be reduced. This happened after the unions announced that there would be a protest on July 5, but Borisov emphasized that the money is not being released because of the protest.

“With pain and regret, I have to say that the reasons for their protest are more than understandable – said Petkov. – Since 2008, their salary has hardly been touched, since 2008 minimal investment has been made in the building fund, since 2008 they are practically responsible for their own clothing, for some of the weapons, and this is not normal.”

In his words, “they are being treated inadequately institutionally”.

Regarding Borisov’s comment that if the state didn’t have to pay billions to Moscow (for Belene), there would be money for the police and the military, Petkov said: “I’m afraid that the Prime Minister sometimes receives not quite adequate advice and so, as I’m watching him, I’m worried he’s going too bananas.” And he explained: “A wise man once said that when a man chooses a monkey as his friend, he makes a commitment that half of his menu will be bananas.” Looking at the Prime Minister’s choice of friends, I sometimes genuinely worry that he chooses a strictly banana diet.”

I am sure that the government is about to find the right solution for the construction of the energy facilities, Petkov also said. According to him, Bulgaria can enter into the construction of the Belene NPP, but a state guarantee should not be given and a commitment to purchase electricity should not be allowed. “I am optimistic, I think that after many difficulties, wrong moves and delays, we are on our way to finding a strong solution,” said Petkov.

Regarding the inspections of the NSO cars and the scandal with the loose bolts of the car used by the chairman of the Lozan VKS, Panov Pekov said that Panov himself should have called an inspection immediately. According to him, Panov waited for the meeting with the president in order to have an audience when he announced the case. “There should be a very serious investigation as to who ordered the movement to continue,” the guest said. In his words, “if we want an objective assessment of the event, the Supreme Judicial Council must remove Panov”.
