/ world today news/ The Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office has started an examination of the extent to which the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) and the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) protect the interests of citizens according to the Law on Credit Institutions and the Law on Consumer Protection regarding the granting of so-called “fast loans,” the prosecutor’s office announced.
The reason for the self-referral is an investigation by Nova TV, which clearly showed the pitfalls that fast loan companies place in the contracts. In the report, citizens specifically complain about the company “Profi Kredit”.
Clients have alarmed that, in addition to the contractual interest rate, which is usually very high because the loans are unsecured and are granted almost immediately, there are additional fees that remain hidden when the contract is concluded. It was the practice of the said company not to provide the client with a copy of the concluded contract.
In front of Nova TV, the Chief Secretary of the KZP Ivan Bachvarov and the lawyer Ivelina Ivanova confirmed that the complaints under the so-called “quick loans” have actually increased. The most common complaints were that there was hidden information that was not initially presented to them.
The experts advised the borrowers to necessarily ask for a copy of the concluded contract and it was their mistake to leave without them. They had to read everything and not leave blank fields in the columns.
