“The Support and Development of Payday 2: A Rare Gem in the Gaming Industry”

Despite all the hate they receive for that DLC spam and some odd choices. Payday 2 is in a rare list of games that have been well supported for so many years.

The client has been overhauled so many times already and so many features have been added, for free and for nothing.

For example, they also just openly and honestly indicated that they were going to release even more DLC for PD2, to pay for the development for PD3. Because the money was just gone and the support for PD2 was already at a very low ebb.

So PD2 isn’t really pay 2 win, because 1: It’s a COOP game, not versus. 2: Practically all fun DLC weapons and perks will also become available for free (in limited form) over time. Well that DLC payers have more shotguns or RPGs… You hardly have any technical advantage with it. I didn’t come across that many DLC only weapons and kits.

The most important, numero 3: All maps are playable by everyone.

Personally, I think Starbreeze has a pretty neat approach. I don’t buy all those weapon and character packs either. Uncalled for.
