The supervisory board of the Mauléon hospital votes to stop joint management with Oloron

The supervisory board of the Mauléon hospital has just voted for stopping the joint management with the Oloron establishment, during this morning of Wednesday March 3.

“Recover management autonomy”

At the end of the meeting, the mayor of the town Souletine and chairman of the supervisory board Louis Labadot announced his intention to “recover management autonomy“for the Mauleon hospital. A possible connection with the health actors of the Basque Country does not seem on the agenda. Louis Labadot has already expressed on several occasions his hostility towards the hospital groupings of the territory.

The hospitals of Oloron and Mauléon had been linked by a common management since 2013. But the Souletin hospital renovation project created great tensions, which prompted the recent resignation of the president of the establishment medical commission, Doctor Christian de Gaye. The Regional Chamber of Accounts has also pointed to an alarming financial situation for the health establishment.
