The old console is still the best, let everyone use what they want, but it doesn’t cost anything to keep some ancient mode in the system. I don’t care if WordPad disappears. But then again – it wouldn’t cost anything to just have it there. Windows are full of ballast and WordPad takes almost nothing. Record the procedure the same. Otherwise VBScript again has no good substitute. I know there are security issues, but for miniature applications that don’t do much, VBScript is best. You write it (at worst, too) in notepad, whereas if I wanted to write a corresponding C# application, some WinForms with a basic GUI, I’d have to fire up Visual Studio and fiddle with it. Plus the benefit of seeing the program code before you run it… It’s just the best. And will it only affect Windows, or will they remove it from Office as well? Because what else do you want to write scripts in Office? Only Tips, that’s probably the only application that I’m glad is really gone. Although she didn’t mind anything there, but I can’t imagine a single person who would be able to use her in any meaningful way 🙂
