No. 1. The Big Apple
Syd and I spent a whirlwind weekend together in NYC as a belated anniversary celebration. We kicked off the stay at the Greenwich Hotel, which is owned by Rober DeNiro and it is so great. The living room area for lounging is especially nice and I loved seeing his artwork throughout.
You know we packed in stops at all our favorite pizza haunts and some new-to-us restaurants. The sheep’s milk ricotta and focaccia at Locanda Verde were incredible. We stopped by Ltd. Pizza, a new find for us, and loved it. The James Beard pancakes at Bubby’s were delicious, as were the bagels at Baz Bagels. We also made stops at The Odeon, Cecconi’s and The Little Cupcake Bake Shop – basically we just ate our way through New York, haha.
Syd flew back home, and I stayed for a handful of meetings. I did squeeze in time to visit The Met which was such a treat to wander through and gather inspiration everywhere I went.
No. 2. Black Friday
The McGee & Co. Black Friday is live and happening! With up to 30% off sitewide it’s the perfect time to gather everything from wish list must-haves to pieces for a whole room refresh. Here are some of my absolute favorites of the sale –
No. 3. Our Thanksgiving Table
Half the fun of hosting for the holidays is planning a tablescape and I am especially looking forward to this year’s Thanksgiving table – how cute are these for the kids’ table!?
No. 4. Nearly December
As soon as the clock strikes midnight on Thanksgiving the girls and I are READY to turn on our Christmas tunes! We got an early start with decorating this year and seeing the warm glow of the lights on the tree at night instantly puts me in the holiday spirit.
No. 5. Holiday Gift Wrapping
With holidays on the brain, I am doing my best to check things off the Christmas to-do list. Top of that list this week: wrapping paper. I’ve been collecting these rolls from our McGee & Co. collection, and they are going to be the perfect touch of traditional pattern under our tree.
No. 6. A Winter Weather Must-Have
This. Coat. I am in love. It’s cashmere and perfect with nearly everything – I will be pairing it with jeans, skirts, or even sweats all season. It’s warm but tailored, making it a layering essential for these colder days. Plus, the sleeves work over sweaters!
No. 7. Happy Thanksgiving
As we head into this busy season, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who is along for this ride – Syd and I are lucky to do what we love (and to do it together) and we pinch ourselves every day that we get to share it with so many of you. Happy Thanksgiving!
XO – Shea
