Postpone winter sales
Another highlight: 73% of retailers bought less for their new collection than last year. “There are several reasons for this. Traders haven’t been able to make enough money yet and have become more cautious for fear of a second lockdown,” explains the SNI.
“Six in 10 merchants cannot pay for the entire new collection. Most can pay a maximum of 75% of it. And this despite the fact that they have bought less.”
Finally, there are many voices among retailers to postpone winter sales to January 15 or early February, depending on sales during the fall.
