BARSINGHAUSEN (/ red / ta). In the past Corona year, the musical devotions in the monastery church had a very positive response, says Pastor Uta Junginger from the Mariengemeinde. Now this series is to be continued beginning in June. In connection with biblical readings, two short devotions of 30 minutes each with a special musical note are offered once a month. Organist Ole Magers and flautist Gerald Pursche will also be there. “There is a colorful program with songs that you would otherwise not hear in normal church services.” Magers predicts that this will also include special flute music. It is also nice for the musicians involved to be able to perform in front of an audience again. The prayers will start on Sunday, June 20, then Pursche and Magers will make music at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Just like on July 25th, when baritone Frederik Frank and Ole Magers provide entertainment, Pastor Uta Junginger will hold a biblical reading and give the blessing. On Sunday, August 15, trombonist Eike Steege will play together with Ole Magers and vicar Mira Neckel will give the blessing. It continues on September 12th, when Ole Magers and Gerald Pursche appear again – Pastor Jürgen Holly donates the blessing. Cantor Ole Magers is the overall musical director for the devotion project. The Mariengemeinde asks visitors to register at [email protected]. In addition, those interested can experience a “day of music” in the monastery church on Sunday, July 4th. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a musical service with the vocal quartet from the chamber choir and pastor Uta Junginger. Then there is an “organ reverberation” with Cantor Magers. In the afternoon, all the musical groups and formations from the Mariengemeinde perform in the monastery church. At 3 p.m. the youth band (s) under the direction of Gerald Pursche plays a colorful repertoire, from 4 p.m. there is open singing with the Stadtkantorei and the flute ensemble, at 5 p.m. the Taizé and Classical chamber choir sings and from 6 p.m. it decides Young ensemble Martina Blume with “Music for the evening” the “Day of Music”.
