The Suicide Squad is the next installment in the DC Extended Universe and fans couldn’t be more excited about the film. Not only will it have a gigantic cast, but James Gunn is the director in charge of the project that will reinvent the team of thugs.
The synopsis tells us how the supervillains held in Bell Reve, the most dangerous and deadly prison in the United States, are recruited to carry out an impossible mission against an imaginable threat: Starro ‘the conqueror of worlds’.
Included in the group are Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and Harley Quinn. However, fans miss Deadshot, the character played by Will Smith in the 2016 Suicide squad.
In a recent ComicBook interview, producer Peter Safran revealed the real reason the beloved actor didn’t appear in the film: “We discussed it, but I think the problem with Will was more about his schedule than anything else.”
“We knew we should start filming in September, because, to be honest, we knew before others that James [Gunn] I would return to do Guardians of the Galaxy 3. So it was really important to start recording when we did and Will was not available, “he explained.
