Of movie The Suicide Squad seemed to be quite a box office hit. But that is quite disappointing, because the film does not do as well as expected and hoped.
Deadline reports that The Suicide Squad debuted at $12.1 million on Friday (including the $4.1 million from the Thursday preview). As a result, it’s slowly looking like the return of Task Force X will amount to $25.7 million. A lot less than the $30 million Warner Bros. and analysts assumed.
What’s going wrong?
Deadline looks closely at the question of what is going on. There is a possibility that the delta variant of the coronavirus plays a role. After all, there are no lockdowns in the United States, so people may make a conscious choice not to go to the cinema. But there’s more to it.
The analysts thought “All that The Suicide Squad was destined to have a bad time at the box office. The film inherently had big problems. It’s hard to get a franchise back on track, even when a film gets excellent reviews and a great director. “
“Many also think that something has gone wrong with the marketing, in distinguishing with the title. Is it a sequel? A reboot? What message are we conveying to the consumer.
