The prototype GMA T.50 drove for the first time on a test track in Great Britain. There was none behind the wheel but its designer, Gordon Murray.
–
Although the car is still a development prototype – XP2 and witnesses remember that the same letters were used to designate the McLaren F1 prototypes, of which there were five in all – and its engine is limited to just three thousand revolutions out of twelve possible, Murray did not hide his satisfaction after the performance.
–
“It was quick, agile and the ride was pleasant. It was a fantastic experience, sitting in the middle of the car again with great visibility. I see how the owners will enjoy this car, “he said.

The twelve-cylinder fork in the T.50 has no supercharging and can handle up to 12,100 revolutions per minute. The three thousand he was limited to during the test are therefore barely a quarter of his abilities. And that’s why it sounds like an animal in a cage, just waiting for the driver to release it with his right foot and let it run properly.
–
This alone is extremely promising in terms of real driving experiences. What’s more, if an electric car drove so slowly on the track, no one would stop there – but hypersport with an atmospheric internal combustion engine is something absolutely special today.
