The evening organized by the Apérock café, on December 17, raised more than 150 new toys and 460 euros in donations for the benefit of Haur Eri. The rock band The Keeks included their cachet
Skalou and Xav, for civil status Pascal Todeschini and Xavier Sarraute, the two responsible for the Aperock coffee, 22, avenue des Dauphins in Anglet, have won their bet. The evening they organized in their establishment, on December 17, 2021, with the help of The Keeks, a rock group led by Owen Lagadec-Iriart, made it possible to collect more than 150 new gifts for hospitalized children, in this Christmas time.
A sum of 450 euros, including the fees of the musicians, was also collected. Money and gifts were given to the association Haur Eri who, for ten years, has been working with children hospitalized in the pediatric department of the Center hospitalier de la Côte basque. For this collection, the managers of the Apérock have stretched a net along one of the windows of their establishment, so that visitors can drop off toys throughout the month of December.
“We thank all those who brought gifts during this evening, in order to fill the net. It was also too small and we had to install a second one, ”Skalou welcomes.
Heart of rockers
“Thank you also to Haur Eri who trusted us and supported our initiative,” continues Xav. By launching this operation, in the current period, with the Covid-19 pandemic and the development of the Omicron variant, we did not know if it would take. But rockers have hearts and so do our customers. The Keeks also showed their heart, by hosting the Friday evening and donating their cachet to Haur Eri.
Xav played Santa Claus to give gifts and cash donations to a representative of Haur Eri, at the Bayonne hospital. “Faced with the success of this first operation, we are already considering renewing it next year,” he confided. The success of this evening confirms Xav and Skalou in their desire to keep the Apérock café alive all year round. An approach they share with their neighbors, bars and restaurants, along the avenue des Dauphins.
