The Barça Licensing and Merchandising company, created in June 2018 and whose mission is to exploit the licenses and merchandising of the Barcelona entity, has experienced considerable growth partly due to the massive sale of the FC Barcelona second kit, which is white.
As highlighted by FC Barcelona in a statement, the start of the 2023-2024 season is being positive for the club thanks to e-commerce and the licensing of products with the Barça brand, especially the sale of the second kit that ranges between 30 and 40% of total sales.
According to the information shared by the same club, since its release on the market on July 26, The white t-shirt has accounted for up to 50% of the purchases made in the Barça Stores.
“Taking as a reference the shirt that the Barça team wore as a second kit during the 70s.“White is the absolute protagonist, while maintaining the stripes with the Blaugrana colors and incorporating them into the trim of the sleeves,” detailed FC Barcelona in a statement on its website when announcing the then controversial kit.
This second kit is completed with blue shorts and socks with the characteristic blue and scarlet stripes.
According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona once again wore a white shirt after 45 yearsbeing used for the last time in the 1977-1978 season by the legendary Dutchman Johan Cruyff, one of the historical references of the culé club.
According to the same Spanish media, the white t-shirt was used for the first time in the decade that began in 1910 and was used sporadically in subsequent years.
