New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the violence at the US Capitol. The Prime Minister said that the overthrow of democracy through illegal protests cannot be allowed. His response was via Twitter.
The violence in the U.S. Capitol has been devastating. Peaceful and orderly transfer of power must continue. “Democracy cannot be overthrown through illegal protests,” he said on Twitter.
The events that shocked the whole world were staged in the US Capitol. Trump’s supporters stormed the U.S. House of Representatives to protest the victory of President-elect Joe Biden.
Pro-Trump protesters stormed the parliament building. Violent protesters clashed with police and broke through a security cordon. Police used tear gas pratisedhakkarkk. A woman was shot dead during the encounter.
Distressed to see news about rioting and violence in Washington DC. Orderly and peaceful transfer of power must continue. The democratic process cannot be allowed to be subverted through unlawful protests.
