The suburb of Gräfelfing is so luxurious

TV legend Thomas Gottschalk is moving to the gates of Munich. What could appeal to the presenter about his new home?

Thomas Gottschalk is moving his life to Bavaria – more precisely, to the tranquil suburb of Gräfelfing. But what attracts the former “Wetten, dass..?” presenter and his fiancée Karina Mroß to this exclusive residential area, far away from Baden-Baden?

The answer lies in the combination of idyllic location, historical charm and a touch of Bavarian luxury.

Gräfelfing, the so-called “Garden City”, is a place with history and style. Originally a Bavarian settlement, Gräfelfing has developed over the centuries into a retreat for wealthy Munich residents: spacious villas and lush gardens characterize the image.

The conservative side of Gräfelfing may also have played a role in Gottschalk’s decision for the new residence: the community consciously decided against rapid densification and tried to preserve its exclusive residential location. In other words, it could be a long-term home that is both historically grown and modern and luxurious.

Gräfelfing is also known for its high real estate prices: a single-family home with excellent living value can easily cost between 1.2 and 1.5 million euros, reports the business magazine “Capital”.

Luxury villas can be even more expensive: A recent report by the real estate company Fischer Immobilien states that the price for a single-family home with excellent living value and 200 square meters of living space is around 2.77 million euros.

Gottschalk and Mroß have already become familiar with the neighborhood: During a visit to the Sickinger bakery, a well-known address in Gräfelfing, the couple are said to have been friendly and down-to-earth, the “Merkur” reports.
