On 5 September in the parish church
Region – A passionate musical journey to the fateful effects of a curse, to romantic bassoon sounds and to a melancholic emotional painting awaits the audience in the upcoming concerts of the Student Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg (SOBW). On September 5th, the ensemble will be performing in the parish church in Reute (6.30 p.m.). Admission is free.
In this year’s work and concert phase with three concerts in Bad Waldsee-Reute, Konstanz and Ravensburg, the SOBW is devoting itself to a varied and intensive musical program of the Romantic period. In addition to Giuseppe Verdi’s overture to the opera La forza del destino (The Force of Destiny), the orchestra under the direction of Jonathan Föll will also work on Carl Maria von Weber’s Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 “Pathétique” within a week.
As bassoon soloist, the 24-year-old from Böblingen and student in the class of Marc Engelhardt (Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts) will interpret Jorid-Rabea Haakh Weber’s virtuoso concerto.
The Student Orchestra Baden-Württemberg was founded in 2016 through an initiative by students from the Trossingen University of Music and has since then developed concert programs for performance in various cities and communities in Baden-Württemberg in annual work phases. The core idea of the donation-funded non-profit orchestra is to offer both the musicians and the audience a free cultural program and thus give as many people as possible access to classical music.
