This is evidenced directly by John Paul DeJoria, a successful billionaire from the United States (US) who was once a homeless person. DeJoria was successful in business at hair care product maker John Paul Mitchell Systems, as well as tequila manufacturer Patrón Spirits Co.
His current achievement is the result of his struggle since his youth. DeJoria grew up in Los Angeles and was cared for by foster parents because his biological mother couldn’t afford it.

After exceeding the age limit for foster children, he became a homeless homeless man. However, this did not make him give up.
DeJoria works odd jobs to survive on the streets. He had several jobs, starting from selling Christmas cards, encyclopedias, and so on.

When he sells encyclopedias door to door, he often faces direct rejection. Even so, he continued to work hard.
Later, DeJoria worked at a hair care product company, Redken and Fermodyl Hair Care. Unfortunately, the two companies actually fired DeJoria.
Who would have thought, the experience he got inspired him to establish a company. Together with Paul Mitchell, their business partner, the two founded John Paul Mitchell Systems in 1980 with an initial capital of US$ 700 or Rp. 10.4 million (exchange rate of Rp. 14,900).
Even though they only sell by word of mouth, their products are starting to be noticed by the public. Then, in the space of two years, the company the two ran was worth millions of dollars. In fact, the company is now worth billions of dollars.
In 1989, he and his partner Martin Crowley bought shares of Patrón Spirits. Then, in 2018 he sold it to Bacardi for US$ 5.1 billion.
Reported Forbes, John Paul DeJoria who is already 78 years old entered the ranks of the richest people in the world. His total wealth is US $ 2.8 billion or Rp 41.7 trillion.
