The first deed was signed yesterday between the Pio Albergo Trivulzio and Invimit, the savings management company of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, to enhance the real estate assets and relaunch the social welfare and healthcare services of the institution.
“The signing of the first deed with Invimit – declares the regional councilor for Welfare Guido Bertolaso – represents a very important step towards the economic stabilization of the Pio Albergo Trivulzio which will allow the institution to better develop its primary functions of care and assistance and will contribute to repay the accumulated debt which, in 2022, had reached 140 million”.
“The PAT – he adds – must be able to carry out the health and social welfare activities that distinguish it, at the service of the most vulnerable and of the entire city of Milan and beyond. What we are doing goes precisely in this direction. Let’s not forget that, beyond residential accommodation, the structure performs a fundamental function in the field of rehabilitation and sub-acute care, also in support of hospital structures with a view to reducing the boarding phenomenon”.
The institution’s redevelopment project, carried out by Francesco Paolo Tronca with the support of the Lombardy Region, saw the expansion of the accredited ‘Intermediate Care’ structure for a total of 185 beds dedicated to specialist rehabilitation and 333 beds, dedicated to general and geriatric rehabilitation. The accredited RSA beds have also been remodeled (425 beds of which 125 in the Alzheimer’s unit) and the semi-residential rehabilitation clinic has also been reopened to external users (closed since 2020).
In the short term, the rehabilitation Day Hospital will increase from 3 to 26 specialist places (currently 23 places are general geriatric and 3 specialist) and the expansion of home care operations and the reactivation of the agreement with the School are being defined specialization in Geriatrics at the University of Milan.
