Mexico City. All federal courts and tribunals will continue to be on strike. The Federal Judiciary Council (CJF) committed to voting “tomorrow or no later than Friday” in an extraordinary session, the request to extend the deadline for the workers of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF) to conclude their strike.
After the CJF issued a circular on September 20 informing that on October 2 it would review whether conditions already existed for workers to return to work, tonight it was announced that due to “administrative issues” in the ordinary session of the In plenary session, the issue of restarting activities was not discussed.
After the strike has now lasted 44 days, and hundreds of PJF workers dissatisfied with the judicial reform demonstrated for almost 12 hours, the minister president, Norma Lucía Piña Hernández and the councilors Lilia Mónica López Benítez and José Alfonso Montalvo Martínez, They appeared on the steps of the CJF headquarters building to announce that an extraordinary call for a plenary session will be issued and only address the demand of the workers, judges and magistrates, that they be allowed to continue with the suspension of work.
Before that, information circulated among the dissidents that the CJF will approve an agreement that will extend the strike until next October 15.
The decision to call an extraordinary plenary session and respond to the workers tomorrow or the day after, occurred after more than two hours of blocking all access to the CJF headquarters building, preventing any worker from leaving those facilities. Among those who stayed inside were Minister Piña Hernández, and councilors Montalvo MartíneZ and López Benítez.
Minister Piña went out to the steps and witnessed the message that an extraordinary session would be called, but the spokesperson was Councilor Montalvo.
The lack of a date caused the workers to shout that “that is not an answer”, which bothered the minister-president and without further ado she turned around, spoke to a representative of the workers and it was she who asked them to calm down and to understand. that the extension of the suspension of work will be seen this Thursday or will be resolved next Friday at the latest.
