The Strange Case of Striker: The Overwatch League’s Cycling DPS Star

One of the strangest phenomena in the Overwatch League is the Striker Cycle. For some very unusual reason, Korean DPS star Kwon “Forward” Nam-joo has only played for two OWL teams, but has jumped between teams five times.

As you might be wondering how this works, Striker started his OWL career with the Boston Uprising, then left and joined the San Francisco Shock and won a couple of titles, then left the Shock and returned to the Uprising, all in (you You guessed it) before leaving Boston again for San Francisco. Jumping forward to this season, Striker recently left the Shock again and rejoined Uprising for the third time in his career, but it looks like the circle is continuing as Striker and Uprising parted ways again.

Uprising announces that Striker is leaving the team and wishes him well“Next step”all the best. There’s no mention of Striker’s ending, but if the past is anything to go by, it would be very, very fitting that the Shock stays for the third time.
