Ahmedabad: The claim of an auto driver who saved a newborn baby from the mouth of a street dog has been refuted. The autorickshaw driver was in the news the other day for saying he had saved a newborn baby from the mouth of a street dog.
With this, the autorickshaw driver became a star in front of the locals. But police found that the truth of the matter was different. The incident took place in Gujarat. The police investigation revealed that the autorickshaw driver lied to the first wife not to know the details of the child born to the second wife. Police have registered a case against him. Autorickshaw driver Sarfuddin Mansoori Sheikh told his first wife that he had rescued the abandoned child. His wife and older brother believed Sheikh’s word that he had been rescued from the street dog’s mouth.
The boy was handed over to the police. The baby was taken to a hospital for a check-up. But the truth came to light when the police questioned Sarfuddin in detail about his inconsistencies.
