The story of that Mammootty film was received in America then; The rest is my imagination: Srinivasan
Screenplay by Srinivasan M. Mohanan directed the film when Katha Parya. Srinivasan, Meena and Mammootty played the lead roles in the 2007 film. Mammootty played the role of actor Ashok Raja in the film, which featured Srinivasan as a barber boy.
The relationship between Barber Balan and Ashok Raj was told in the movie Katha Pariwande. Now Srinivasan tells how he got the story of this film. He was speaking in an interview given to One to Talks.
‘When I went to America for a reason and lived in a place, the idea that suddenly came to my mind was the story of the movie ‘Katha Piyana’. I have heard about the relationship between Sri Krishna and Kuchelan.
It was a reminder of a story someone had told in the past. I wondered what it would be like to play two such characters in the present day and develop their friendship. So I immediately wrote it down.
The thread I got in America is about the movie Katha Pariwande. The truth is that even then I did not fully know the story of Sri Krishna and Kuchelan. But it was known that they had a good relationship.
I have also heard about Kuchelan going to meet Sri Krishna. I remember that story. I didn’t know any more details. The rest was my imagination,’ said Srinivasan.
