Cristiano Ronaldo ended up wearing number 7 in Manchester United. Story Sir Alex Ferguson gave that number to Ronaldo 18 years ago, it went viral again!
Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United, after the Red Devils bought it from Juventus for 15 million Euros, equivalent to Rp. 253 billion. Ronaldo is contracted until 2023 with the option of an extension.
Ronaldo himself used to be in Manchester United’s uniform from 2003 to 2009. The Portuguese player made a sweet history at Old Trafford.
Reported detikSport from Sky Sports, Cristiano Ronaldo will now wear the same jersey number as the first period. Ronaldo will wear the number 7.
The back number is like a sacred number at Manchester United. No doubt, great players like David Beckham, Eric Cantona, Bryan Robson, and George Best have used it.
Ronaldo himself performed brilliantly when wearing the number. In fact, Ronaldo was actually reluctant to wear the number 7!
“I originally wanted to wear number 28 when I moved to Manchester United. But Sir Alex Ferguson (MU manager at the time-ed), told me to wear number 7. A number that is so sacred, was used by great players,” said Cristiano Ronaldo once.

Sir Alex Ferguson certainly know very well about the sacred number 7 at Manchester United. So when he told Cristiano Ronaldo to wear the number 7, Sir Alex didn’t care about it.
“I think a young player like Ronaldo deserves to wear it. I hope he will be a great player at this club for a long time,” said Sir Alex when he completed Ronaldo’s transfer from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United.

“Sir Alex Ferguson is my father in the world of football. He played a big role in my return journey here (MU-ed),” Ronaldo said in his first interview.
