TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – A number of passenger who arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang City, Sunday (8/5/2022), admitted that they still had to queue for a long time at the pick-up area luggage.

“The luggage queue is long, about an hour and a half. I only brought two suitcases (in the trunk) and one bag (in the plane cabin),” he said when met at Sub Terminal 2E, Sunday.

The man who arrived from Gorontalo’s Djalaluddin Airport said that on normal time flights, baggage collection does not take this long.

He suspected that the long queue of baggage was caused by the large number of passengers arriving at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Randoali who landed at 10.30 WIB was only able to pick up his suitcases at around 12.05 WIB.

“Usually (baggage collection) is faster. Yes it should be conveyor beltIt’s multiplied, yes,” he suggested.

Passenger another named Riyad (27) also admitted the same thing.

Although not as long as Randoali, Riyad had to wait for an hour to retrieve his suitcase.

“It’s been a long time, isn’t it usually this long. About an hour to pick up (the suitcase),” he said, met at the same location.

Riyad also suspected that the baggage retrieval process took a long time because of the large number of passengers arriving at the airport Soekarno Hatta Airport on this Sunday.

“Yes, maybe because there was a backflow, so there were a lot of passengers, they kept getting their luggage and they queued for a long time,” he said.

Senior Manager of Branch Communication and Legal at Soekarno-Hatta Airport M Holik Muardi said that one of the things that was prepared was the smooth collection of baggage belonging to airplane passengers.

“We have collaborated and coordinated with airlines, ground handlingfor the smooth retrieval of baggage for passengers, especially in the arrivals area,” he explained to the media crew, Sunday.

To expedite baggage collection, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has also prepared more trolleys.
