On Friday, Sony and Guerrilla Games were able to showcase an expansion for Horizon Forbidden West, called Burning Shores. The launch is set for April 19, 2023 and the scheme will be exclusive to PlayStation 5.

– Our creative vision for Burning Shores is an ambitious expansion that will take Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles. It is an overgrown and ruined city that can be explored on water or in the air on the back of a Sunwing. A huge machine threat lurks in the shadows, a huge challenge that Aloy must face using all the attributes and abilities of him,” said game director Mathijs de Jonge and continued:
– To realize this grand vision both technically and creatively, we made the difficult decision to focus on creating an incredible experience that will only be available on the PlayStation 5 console.
Burning Shores picks up the story after the events of Horizon Forbidden West. Players are promised a new adventure to discover, in the Los Angeles version of the Horizon universe.
Guerrilla promises more characters to meet and new challenges for Aloy to overcome.
