The story takes place in a boarding school for blind young people who have been blind since birth. They live a happy and normal life thanks to the care of their teachers – the blind Pablo and the visionary Pepita – finding comfort in each other’s society, friendship and love. This fragile harmony is beginning to be threatened by the newcomer Ignatio of the boarding school, who, with his ruthless and provocative views, refuses to accept the mental blindness of the boarding school not to see the painful reality, which is often chosen not to be seen by the sighted. Boarding students do not remain in debt to Ignasio with the answer.

Director Tom Treinis: “This work is very close and special to me, because Valjeho has written quite precisely the inner contradiction of man and the struggle with darkness within himself. At a time when people in society have become alienated and our level of inner tolerance has almost completely disappeared, it is worth asking questions related to the search for truth and openness. One of the most important questions for me in creating this show is, who needs the truth, if it is so painful? The world we see in the show is awkward, but at the same time it encourages breaking out of half-truths, lies and frivolity. ”

The creative team also includes scenographer Kristaps Kramiņš, costume designer Marta Mielava, lighting artist Gatis Priednieks – Melnacis and composer Jūlijs Melngailis. Cast: Aksels Aizkalns, Ieva Estere Barkāne, Rūdis Bīviņš, Artis Jančevskis, Tālivaldis Lasmanis, Inese Ramute, Diāna Krista Stafecka, Krišjānis Strods, Aigars Vilims, Kārlis Dzintars Zahovskis or Meinards Liepiņš.
