Not even a month after graduating from the ITB degree in Geological Engineering, Azka Faiz Siregar continued her studies in the Land of Cherry Blossoms. Azka, her nickname, managed to hook up Scholarship thanks to his experience as group leader.
Azka studied masters in Japan with the Creation The Leader program. The Creation of the Leader is a scholarship program of the ITB geological engineering study program to produce geologists and future leaders.
The study program automatically awards a Golden Ticket with a full scholarship to the head of the ITB Geological Engineering Association HMTG “GEA” ITB to continue geological education and experience the formation of different characters abroad. Fortunately, Azka, who has been entrusted with the role of president of the ITB HMTG “GEA” ITB Geological Engineering Student Association, had the opportunity.
Azka had the opportunity to study at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Ehime University, Japan. Armed with her leadership experience and his best efforts, she is able to bring Azka to the land of Sakura.
While at the ITB, Azka was known to be active non-academically. In the ITB student family (KM ITB), Azka served as Directorate General of Special Orientation, Ministry of the PKKP, Coordinating Ministry for Human Resource Development from 2020 to 2021. Before continuing to become president of the Student Association of Geological Engineering ITB HMTG “GEA” ITB from 2021 to 2022.
Azka told the ITB website quoted on Monday (10/17/2022) that she received a recommendation from two professors of ITB Geological Engineering, namely Dr. ing. Mirzam Abdulrahman, ST, MT., And Dr. Idham Andri Kurniawan, ST, MT, will become a student under the guidance of Prof. Masayuki Sakakibara at Ehime University. Subsequently, Azka began looking for scholarships and had the opportunity to receive them Scholarship full of Naiba who deals with geoengineering.
Azka admitted she had language problems. prof. Sakakibara also requires himself to be able to speak Japanese even though Azka is in international class during college.
This is not an obstacle for Azka to socialize with other students. Azka, who tends to be easy to get along with, tries to adapt to her surroundings with her English skills.
Not even a week in Japan, Azka already feels at ease. The warmth of the Japanese and the cold atmosphere did not make Azka feel homesick. Also, Azka has found a Muslim community that makes him remember to always worship.
However, Azka believes that student activities on campus are very limited and there is also no forum like universities in Indonesia. Hence, Azka intends to help the activities of the Indonesian Student Association in Japan keep the spirit of the organization alive.
