Valentino Rossi is preparing to start its umpteenth season in MotoGP, the first not riding a factory bike. This year, in fact, one was reserved for him M1 del team Petronas, always connected to the parent company Yamaha that much Rossi helped make it powerful and credible in Moto Gp.
The past few months have not been easy for the centaur from Tavullia, forced to contend, like many others, with a sneaky and invisible enemy: the Covid-19. During the forced isolation to which he had to undergo, he had time to think about his future and his long-term projects, in which he sees himself riding a motorcycle until 2022 and with his wife and children next to him.
These are his confessions to the newspaper The Republic:
“When you have Covid you feel lonely, isolated, you have a lot to think about. I was never really bad, I was breathing well. I followed all the directions and precautions required, I was isolated but it was tough. For me, life is a party every day and I like being together with people, it was difficult ”.
Despite the very high precautions of the whole world championship circuit, the pandemic has also crept between the two wheels as well as in every area of everyday life. Currently, the worst seems to be over, and Vale he can finally concentrate totally on the new season, in which he hopes to win some races and, why not, not give up his M1 even beyond:
“As a rider I am old, I have a few more worries than in the past but it is a beautiful age where I am in it great. I have some wrinkles, some white hair but as long as I feel good I don’t give up. A lot will depend on what happens in this 2021. If I have fun and manage to fight to win or to get on the podium or maybe if I only remain among the top 5, then I continue ”.
Lastly, Rossi confesses to starting to think about what he had never thought about in the past, as a family and children:
“I have been thinking for a while that I would like to have a child or maybe two. I think I have found the right girl compared to the past. I think it would be really worth it ”.
