TRIBUNNEWS.COM – A mother in Hongkong recounted her grief of being separated from her exposed 11 -month -old baby Covid-19 by the hospital.
Laura (32) said her daughter had a cough, fever and difficulty breathing on Sunday (20/2/2022).
After consulting a private doctor online on Monday morning, she and her husband were asked to take the baby to the hospital.
Reported SCMPLaura took the baby to Queen Mary Hospital and spent 10 hours in isolation, while her husband waited in the hallway.
Baby Laura was then transferred to the intensive care unit for monitoring and a doctor informed the hospital that there was no room for them to wait for the child.

Laura and her husband said they would wait in the corridor, but the doctor didn’t allow him to stay in the hospital area because of the patient’s close contact Covid-19.
“I was pleading, crying, hysterical and screaming,” Laura said.
“I had a bit of a breakdown. It was so inhuman. I couldn’t leave him. He was 11 months old. I never left him. It was very traumatic for us,” Laura said.
After the couple waited outside the intensive care unit until 1am on Tuesday, Laura said, doctors said they would call security and even take the two of them to the police if they didn’t leave immediately.
Dr Lau Ka-hin, the chief manager of the hospital said he would try to arrange for the confirmed child and parent Covid-19 to be together in the hospital.
