The Story of a College Student in Kabul: It Feels Like Doomsday

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Aisha Ahmad (22) a student at Accept, Afghanistan, immediately rushed to Hamid Karzi International Airport when the Afghan government fell to the Taliban on Monday (16/8).

The streets were deserted as he ran towards the airport. Occasionally gunshots can be heard on several street corners.

Although managed to arrive at the airport, Aisha did not make it out of Kabul. By the time he arrived at the airport, thousands of people had crowded into the plane to fly out of the country.

He also admitted that he saw many women and children lying on the ground when he arrived at the airport.

“Children and women on the ground, it felt like the end of the world. I thought this was the end and I was going to die,” Aisha told CNN.

Unfortunately Aisha didn’t make it out of Kabul, but at least she managed to survive the crowd and the gunfight that had occurred at Hamid Karzi Airport with scratches and bruises all over her body.

He admitted that he had asked for help from other countries via Twitter. But the request for help was met with death threats.

“I asked for help from a third country, only to receive death threats,” Aisha said.

It was previously reported that five people were killed when hundreds of Afghans fled to Kabul airport to escape after the government fell to the Taliban.
An eye witness told Reuters he saw at least five bodies being loaded into one vehicle.
