Persephone Rizvi usually spends the weekends partying, but instead she feels miserable. He tells how Islam saved his life through a new documentary for BBC Three.
I used to make a lot of mess when I was a teenager.
I spent the weekend partying. My weekend was filled with thinking whose ID card we were going to use [untuk masuk kelab malam]? What clothes do I wear? How’s the alcohol going, so who’s going to take my friends and I to town?
Party-The party will last until 04:00 or 05:00. After that, the party continued at home until I finally woke up drunk.
I remember fighting a lot of girls and they flicked cigarettes at me.
It all ended up being exhausting. I have to change it.
Drinking alcohol was my way of dealing with circumstances and going through emotionally draining experiences that I didn’t understand at the time. I’m struggling to figure out my purpose in life, I want to be better for myself. But at the time, I didn’t know what I was doing.
