Today marks the 20th anniversary of the death of the great comedian Alaa Wali El Din, who passed away on February 11, 2003.

In this report, we show you the stories of the late Alaa Wali El Din:

Alaa Wali El Din was born on August 11, 1963, in Cairo.

He worked as an assistant to director Nour El-Demerdash for 4 years, during which he gained good experience.

– In 1999, director Sharif Arafa nominated him to star in the movie “Abboud on the Borders”, and the film achieved great success.

– He started with small roles in many works, including: “Ice Cream in Gleem”, “Terrorism and Kebab”, “The Forgotten”, “Sleeping in Honey”.

Despite his short artistic career, he participated in 23 films with secondary roles and presented 3 films and 3 plays as an absolute hero. On television, he starred in 9 dramas, including “The World is Fortunes, Ali Al-Zaybak, What Are You Doing?”

The artist, Alaa Morsi, said during an interview with the journalist, Amr Al-Laithi, on the “One of the People” program on “Al-Nahar” satellite channel (September 2019): “Alaa felt that he was going to die, and when I went to perform Umrah before his death, he asked me to buy him red musk in large quantities, and despite I did not have money, so he insisted on me to bring him the largest possible amount.”

– And he added: “He was in Brazil in his late days filming the movie (Arabic Definition), he called me once and said: Where are you sitting? Hardship contracts and relieve our affairs) 100 times so that our Lord honors you. I felt that I was in a problem and I said it, and may God relieve it.

Alaa Morsi continued: “On the night of Eid, the first time he came back, he spoke to me. He said, ‘Come, let us break our fast together in the morning, or come to the theater at night.’ I told him, ‘I will come to you after noon, and then we will go to the theater together.’ On the day of Eid, I entered. I slept a little after the prayer. My sister corrected me and said: Ashraf Abdel-Baqi is calling.” You have a lot, before I wanted, I imagined that Ashraf would celebrate Ali. I spoke to him and he said one word: Alaa Wali al-Din died, and the caravan of the road left.

– He continued: “I was at that time wearing a white galabiya. I went running in the street and I did not understand where I was going. My brother followed me and rode me and I went to them. I preferred the white galabiya and barefoot all day and until the night. The mortuary and I spoke to him. I told him: Are you really that right, or what is the matter? I do not understand. Then I shuddered and was silent for a moment while they were taking him down to the burial place that he had bought before, while I was with him. At the moment he entered the tomb, I collapsed, and until now, when I go to him and think of him, I feel that I need him very much. Likewise, Ashraf Abdel-Baqi, until now, his voice is not the most honorable in the past, and Huneidi is the same case. We lost our father and our blessing.

– As the artist Alaa Morsi revealed, in his interview with the “Friday in Egypt” program on the “MBC” satellite channel, about his relationship with the late artist Alaa Wali El-Din, stressing: “Alaa Wali El-Din’s death broke me, and his departure on the day of Eid saddened every home in Egypt.”

Morsi said, “Alaa Wali al-Din used to eat me 28 liver sandwiches. Once we rode a bus and it fell, and I had to get him up, but I was hysterically laughing while people watched us.”
It is noteworthy that during the filming of the movie “Arabi Tarifa”, comedian Alaa Wali El Din passed away on February 11, 2003, after suffering from a diabetic coma and high blood pressure.
