The story of 2 battered men shouted at by thieves ended in mediation

Jakarta

Unlucky fate befell two men from Sukabumi, West Java, the initials I and N. They were beaten badly after being shouted at paint by residents in Klapanunggal, Bogor Regency.

“There were people asking for addresses and parents. Because there was panic from those who were asked, the thieves shouted. They were immediately attacked by local residents,” said Klapanunggal police chief, Kompol Azi Lesmana to reporters, Sunday (6/3/2022).

The incident occurred in Klapanunggal Village, Klapanunggal District, on Saturday (5/3) at around 13.00 WIB. At that time, the two victims, who had just finished putting up wedding decorations, passed a teenager with the initials F who was on his way home from school. Then, the victim asked the address of the student’s parents.

“After asking the whereabouts of his parents, the alleged perpetrators of the theft (I and N) went to a shop with a friend to buy a drink. Now, when the two walked towards the coffee shop, the victim was scared and screamed as a thief,” said the Criminal Investigation Unit Head. Klapanunggal Police, Ipda Zalukhu.

Hearing the screams of the thief, local residents came and judged I and N. Both were also briefly secured at the village security post (Pos Kamdes) Klapanunggal. By the police, I and N were then taken to the Polsek for questioning.

“We took (I and N) to the Sector Police, then we did an in-depth investigation by examining several witnesses, including victim witnesses and several people at the scene. It turned out that it was not a case of violent theft, so it was a misunderstanding between parties,” said Zalukhu.

“So there was no violent theft there, according to the results of our investigation that there was only a misunderstanding,” he added.
