The meeting between Paloh and Luhut
The moment when Surya Paloh and Luhut met was revealed by NasDem Party politician Peter F Gontha. Peter uploaded this moment on his Instagram account, Friday (13/1/2023). During the meeting, Surya Paloh was seen wearing an all-black suit while Luhut wore a dark suit. The two of them seemed to be chatting about something.
In another photo, Peter Gontha sits next to Luhut while Surya Paloh sits across from Luhut, separated only by a table filled with food and drinks. From the window, the sky looks dark.
Peter Gontha called Surya Paloh and Luhut true nationalists, although they differed over the matter of the successor to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in 2024. It is known that Surya Paloh has declared Anies Baswedan as his party in 2024.
“On December 13, 2022, there was also a meeting between LBP and SP in Europe. Both of them are true nationalists, although they have different views on who should be the successor to the government after President Joko Widodo,” said Peter Gontha.
Peter Gontha said Surya Paloh and Luhut did not want Indonesia to fall into the trap of left or right extremism. Both of them, he said, upheld Pancasila, not just their words but their behavior and views.
“It’s just that their approach is different, but the goal is the same. Both of them sincerely want stability to be maintained, even though they have different ‘champions’,” said Peter.
The man who now has a career at the NasDem Expert Council said that differences of opinion are normal and he supports that the integrity of the nation is guaranteed. Regarding the puzzle of who is the leader of 2024, Peter said that let time answer it.
“Keep moving forward, the leaders of the nation, let time decide who the people choose. But whoever is elected, both LBP and SP must protect the integrity of our nation, that is my hope,” said Peter.
