the storming of the Bastille commemorated this Tuesday

A ceremony will take place this Tuesday from 6 p.m., from the town hall to the war memorial

Contrary to what the paper version of “Sud Ouest” indicates this Tuesday morning (our apologies for this confusion), no fireworks or popular ball in Cenon on the eve of July 14th. The City has chosen a commemorative gathering, closer to the Parisian wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier than to the fiesta at the Bastille.

The gathering at the town hall at 6 p.m. will be followed by a deposit of bouquets at the stele of the deportation and resistance then the ceremony will continue at the war memorial before the speeches and wine of honor on the forecourt of the ‘Espace Simone-Signoret. The event is open to the public, but given the health situation, it is strongly recommended to come and wear a mask and to respect physical distancing.

This gathering will be in the presence of the mayor Jean-François Egron, of the deputy of the Gironde Alain David, of the commissioners Rachel Abreu, Frédéric Bourdier and Nicolas PEREZ, of the Controller General Jean-Paul Decellières (SDIS 33), of the General of division Rémi Fouilland , Commander of the south-west land zone and deputy general commitment to the OGZDS-SO and of Mickaël Le Boustouller of the Civil Protection of Cenon.
