The Storm defeated the Las Vegas Aces with 104: 91 (31:24, 17:18, 27:26, 29:23) and took the lead 2-0 in a series of up to three wins.
The success of the Seattle team was forged by Breana Stuarte with 22 points, while Ališa Klārka and Natasha Howard, who also had eight balls under the baskets, contributed another 21 points. Sue Byrda, on the other hand, scored “double-double” – 16 points and ten assists.
On the second side of the field, Eiža Vilsone stood out with 20 points and seven rebounds, adding 17 points each to Emma Kenona and Angela Makotrija, who also had eight rebounds. Meanwhile, Deniela Robinson added ten assists for eight points.
Seattle’s Storm, which only competed in the semifinals thanks to the second-best finish in the main event, has never lost in this year’s playoffs in five games, and the next fight on Tuesday may be the last this season.
The Seattle team has the opportunity to become only the third team to win four WNBA titles this year. Storm has previously won the finals in 2004, 2010 and 2018.
In the spring of this year, “Storm” drafted Kitty Lax in the first round with the total number 11, but both sides agreed that the Latvian will go to North America next year.
Both teams in this series have to do without significant reserve players. Aces’ knee injury could not help Derika Hemby, the season’s best backer, but Storm doesn’t see Sami Whitecom, who left the WNBA bubble to be with his wife. Family growth is planned for the couple.
Washington’s Mystics basketball players were crowned WNBA champions last year.
