The storm leaves hundreds of incidents as it passes through Ourense | Radio Ourense

The storm that affected Ourense in the last hours has caused more than a hundred incidents and damages pending evaluation, as confirmed by the mayor himself, Gonzalo Pérez Jácome, and the Councilor for Citizen Security, Telmo Ucha.

Due to it, they also registered both accidents. In one, two people were injured after the vehicle in which they were circulating left the road and ended up overturned by the storm that fell in the city of Ourense, according to the incident report from 112 and the Local Police.

Around 8:00 p.m., an individual contacted the emergency service to alert the accident of a car on the road N-525, at the height of the O Couto neighborhood. The person claimed that the vehicle was overturned on the road but that the people were already off the road.

According to sources from 061 to Europa Press, an advanced life support ambulance was sent to the place that took two injured to the El Carmen medical center: a 21-year-old boy and a 21-year-old girl.

In addition, according to the incident report of the Local Police of Ourense, in the Nacional-120, there was a traffic cut, in the center direction. In this case, it was due to the fall of a tree on the road on a vehicle, trapping two people who were injured without seriousness, as in the previous accident.

Regarding the consequences of the storm, the Councilor for Citizen Security confirmed this Monday that there are more than a hundred incidents registered due to the fall of elements or others that flew. This happened with a gallery that flew causing damage to other buildings and several vehicles, to which were added signs and fallen trees or damage to roofs, as well as the detachment of tiles or roofs and damage to cars.

According to the incident report of 112, after 7:00 p.m., the storm began to be noticed in the city to generate more than twenty traffic incidents on the roads. Thus, the CIAE-112 received notice from a fallen roof on Vicente Risco street and from several streets cut by falling trees and branches, as was the case on Pablo Iglesias street, Buenos Aires avenue and various points from the N-120 highway.

In addition, the operators of the 112 Galicia also informed the Local Police and the Fire Department of the municipality for notices of possible risks, up to fifteen times. In this case, loose roof tiles and plates were the protagonists in Pardo de Cela and Santiago avenues and in Bierzo and Vicente Risco streets.

The mayor of Ourense, Gonzalo Pérez Jácome, has explained that the municipal services are working to try to return to “normality” and has focused the actions on the removal of trees, branches and weeds.

It has also ratified that there are damage to the pavilion’s Olympic pool, affecting the roof, and for that reason it will remain closed. In the case of the public pools in Oira, which were scheduled to open this Monday, he has stated that it is being evaluated whether or not they will open.
