In Brno-Soběšice, part of a tree fell on a pram with a child on Saturday, and rescuers handed the child over to the hospital in critical condition. This was stated by the spokeswoman of the South Moravian rescuers Michaela Bothová. According to her, the rescuers also treated the woman who was driving the pram with abrasions and bruises. “During constant resuscitation on controlled ventilation, we handed over the child in critical condition for further care at the ARO Children’s Hospital in Brno,” said Bothová. The woman was taken by ambulance to the Military Hospital in Brno.

A strong wind, which threw branches and whole trees on power lines, interrupted power supplies to thousands of customers in the Czech Republic on Saturday evening and at night. At around 8 pm, ČEZ registered approximately 12,000 customers without electricity, and the E.ON distributor approximately 500. Outages mainly affected Moravia and the northeastern part of Bohemia.
