The warm summer weather is ended by a marked cold front, which can cause headaches and migraines among others for those sensitive to cold fronts.
Heavy thunderstorms may develop in the county of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén on Monday, HungaroMet Zrt warned.
According to the danger signal delivered to MTI, stronger thunderstorms are to be expected in the county on Monday, in addition to lightning, the wind and hail accompanying the thunderstorms are also a risk. For this reason, the county of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén issued a second-degree (orange) warning.
A first-degree warning is in effect in the counties of Fejér, Győr-Moson-Sopron, Heves, Komárom-Esztergom, Nógrád, Pest, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, Vas and Veszprém. The primary source of danger is lightning, in addition, strong winds and hail may also occur.
According to the forecast, thunderstorms may develop in places in the northwestern counties from late afternoon on Monday, and then in the evening and late evening hours in the northern counties as well.
In some places – more likely in Borsod – violent thunderstorms may occur, which may be accompanied by locally stormy, usually 70-90 kilometers per hour wind gusts, hail and intense precipitation.
Attention was drawn to the fact that the amount of precipitation near the western border could reach 20 millimeters in some places until midnight on Tuesday.
In the southern part of the country – in Baranya and the southern part of Bács-Kiskun – the strongest gusts can reach 60-70 kilometers per hour from noon to late afternoon.
Thunderstorms may occur in some places in the south and southeast during the day on Tuesday.
