The method is a way to lower the pressure, which takes only five minutes. Each letter corresponds to a step. Andrea Semprini, founder and director of the fortnightly, details them:

S for STOP signal. “In a tense situation with a colleague or in trouble, you have to imagine this highway code sign. »

T for three breaths. “You have to breathe trying to lengthen your inhalations and exhalations and find your balance. You have to do it for a count of five and do it three times. It slows down the heart rate and has a calming effect. »

Or for Observer. “During these long breaths, you must try to see the emotions that arise during the pauses and breaths. »

P for Perceive. “For this last step it is necessary to go back to the situation that precedes the display of the STOP signal (first step). Then thanks to all these flow interruption steps, you have to try to look at this moment that caused stress differently, with hindsight and with equanimity. »

It is recommended to practice the STOP method three times a day.
